Identical twins Liv and Maddie Rooney (with each role played by Dove Cameron) will return for a second season in the hit comedy series, "Liv and Maddie." It was announced today by Adam Bonnett, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channel. Production will resume in Los Angeles in March. Season two is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014.

Year to-date, the series ranks as TV's #1 telecast in its time period across major youth demos, and in 2013, was the #2 series across all TV in Kids 2-11 (2.1 million/5.4 rating) and #3 TV series in Kids 6-11 (1.7 million/7.3 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.6 million/6.7 rating).

In making the announcement Bonnett said, "'Liv and Maddie has quickly become a Disney Channel fan favorite and our viewers have connected with Dove Cameron in her dual role, as well as the rest of the Rooney family. Season two will continue to make families laugh with relatable and engaging stories."

The series follows 16-year-old identical twin sisters Liv, a Hollywood star who has returned home to Wisconsin, and Maddie, a hometown basketball star, as they experience the highs and lows of high school, bothersome brothers and each other's differences. In addition to Cameron, it stars Joey Bragg and Tenzing Norgay Trainor as younger brothers Joey and Parker Rooney, respectively; Kali Rocha as mom, Karen Rooney; and Benjamin King as dad, Pete Rooney.

"Liv and Maddie" is created and executive-produced by John Beck and Ron Hart (both of "According to Jim"). Andy Fickman ("The Game Plan," "Parental Guidance"), Betsy Sullenger ("You Again") and John Peaslee ("According to Jim," "Dog With A Blog") are also executive producers, and Fickman directs episodes for the series.

New episodes of "Liv and Maddie" air SUNDAYS on Disney Channel. The series is a production of It's A Laugh Productions, Inc and carries a TV-G parental guideline.
