During Summer 2016, Disney Channel ranked as TV's No. 1 network for the 8th-consecutive summer among Kids 6-11 (397,000/1.7 rating) and 11th-straight summer among Tweens 9-14 (387,000/1.6 rating) and was in the Top 2 cable entertainment networks for the 5th summer in a row in Total Viewers (1.1 million). Competitively, Disney Channel defeated Nickelodeon by double digits in both Kids 6-11 (+13% - 397,000 vs. 350,000) and Tweens 9-14 (+79% - 387,000 vs. 222,000).
Disney Channel reached more viewers than any other kid TV network with 106 million Total Viewers, including over 32 million Kids 2-14 and 44 million Adults 18-49. This was 9% more than the Nickelodeon (97 million) and 29% more than The Cartoon Network (82 million).
Across key digital platforms, Disney Channel content generated 95 million consumer engagements via VOD/STB and an additional 49 million views on the dedicated Youtube Disney Channel.
In primetime, Disney Channel was a Top 5 basic cable network in Total Viewers (1.3 million) and was the No. 1 TV network for the 14th summer in a row in Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11.
The premiere of the 100th Disney Channel Original Movie "Adventures in Babysitting" (6/24/16) was the summer's No. 1 cable TV telecast across Kids 2-11 (2.4 million/6.0 rating), Kids 6-11 (1.9 million/8.2 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.7 million/7.1 rating) and the No. 1 telecast across kid cable TV networks in Total Viewers (4.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.3 million/1.0 rating). To date, "Adventures in Babysitting" has generated 4.5 million consumer engagements from 2.3 million unique set-top-boxes.
Launching in mid-summer (July 22), "Elena of Avalor" ranked as the summer's No. 1 TV series in Kids 2-11 (1.3 million/3.3 rating) and the No. 1 animated series across kid cable TV networks in Total Viewers (2.5 million) and Women 18-49 (592,000/0.9 rating). The series added an additional 2.7 million consumer engagements via VOD/STB and has reached 33.0 million Total Viewers, including 12.9 million Kids 2-11 and 11.6 million Adults 18-49.
The simulcast July 22 launch of "Elena of Avalor" on Disney Channel and 24-hour Disney Junior channel was the No. 1 animated TV telecast of the summer in Kids 2-11 (2.4 million/6.1 rating) and the No. 1 animated cable TV telecast in Total Viewers (4.5 million).
Among preschooler networks, "Elena of Avalor" on the 24-hour Disney Junior channel was the No. 1 series of the summer in Total Viewers (802,000) and Kids 2-5 (321,000/2.1 rating).
"Girl Meets World" was the No. 1 TV series in Tweens 9-14 (788,000/3.3 rating) and the No. 1 series among kid cable TV networks in Total Viewers (2.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (896,000/0.7 rating) and added an additional 5 million consumer engagements via VOD/STB.
"Girl Meets World" reached 39 million Total Viewers during the summer, including 12 million Kids 2-11 and 14 million Adults 18-49.
"Girl Meets World" accounted for the summer Top 8 series telecasts on the kid networks.
The 24-hour Disney Junior channel ranked as the summer's No. 1 Total Day preschooler TV network for the 4th-consecutive summer in Total Viewers (530,000), Kids 2-5 (215,000/1.4 rating) and Adults 18-49 (161,000 - No. 1 summer on record), delivering the Top 8 series on the dedicated networks, led by newcomer "Elena of Avalor."
Disney Junior-branded programming reached 49 million Total Viewers for the summer - including 11 million Kids 2-8 and 20 million Adults 18-49 - and amassed 55 million consumer engagements via VOD/STB and 36 million video views via the Youtube Disney Junior channel.

Disney Junior Channel towered over Sprout by triple digits across the board: Total Viewers (+261% - 530,000 vs. 147,000), Kids 2-5 (+271% - 215,000 vs. 58,000), Girls 2-5 (+242% - 106,000 vs. 31,000), Boys 2-5 (+304% - 109,000 vs. 27,000) and Adults 18-49 (+313% - 161,000 vs. 39,000).
