Disney ABC Television Earns Nine GLAAD Nominations Across Its Networks  Image

ABC Primetime, ABC Daytime, ABC News, Freeform, Disney Channel and Disney Junior properties were honored with GLAAD Media Award nominations on Friday, a first-time sweep for six channels under the Disney|ABC TV umbrella.

The 29th annual GLAAD nominees for DAT include ABC and FreeForm landing Outstanding Comedy Series nominations for "Modern Family" and "The Bold Type," respectively. Freeform's "Shadowhunters" reaping an Outstanding Drama Series bid. ABC's "When We Rise" being nominated for Outstanding TV Movie or Limited Series. This year, in GLAAD's introduction of a category for Outstanding Kids and Family Programming, Disney Channel's "Andi Mack" and Disney Junior's "Doc McStuffins" were nominated. ABC Daytime's hit "The View" episode featuring "Laverne Cox and Gavin Grimm" being nominated for Outstanding Talk Show Episode, and ABC News receiving nominations for Outstanding TV Journalism - Newsmagazine for "Nightline"'s "Gay Purge?" story and an Outstanding TV Journalism Segment nomination for "Good Morning America"'s "DJ Zeke Thomas Goes Public".

The ceremonies will be held in Los Angeles on April 12 at the Beverly Hilton and in New York on May 5 at the New York Hilton Midtown.
