Discovery Hits Another SHARK WEEK High on Wednesday

Discovery's Shark Week broke 26 years of Shark Week Wednesday viewership records last night with the premiere of Great White Serial Killer. This stands as the highest rated and most watched Shark Week Wednesday program in the 26 year history of SHARK WEEK. Discovery was also the #1 cable network among Persons and Men 25-54/18-49 and Persons, Men and Women 18-34, and the #2 network in ALL OF TELEVISION among Men 18-34 delivery during primetime, behind only FOX.

Discovery had the top two cable programs on Wednesday night among Men 25-54 and Persons/Men 18-49 delivery with Great White Serial Killer and Top Ten Sharkdown. The record breaking telecast of Great White Serial Killer at 10PM earned a 2.23 HH / 1.92 P25-54 / 1.82 P18-49 AA% and delivered an average of 3.22 million total viewers P2+. Top Ten Sharkdown at 9PM earned a 1.90 HH / 1.52 P25-54 / 1.52 P18-49 AA% and delivered an average of 2.78 million total viewers P2+. Additionally, Great White Serial Killer was the #1 cable telecast on Wednesday night among Persons, Men and Women 25-54, Persons, Men and Women 18-49 and Persons and Women 18-34, delivery.

Discovery's late night live talk show, Shark After Dark, hosted by comedian Josh Wolf at 11PM, delivered 0.93 HH AA% / 0.74 P25-54 AA% / and 1.01 million total viewers P2+. This telecast beat TBS' Conan, Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report, BRAVO's Watch What Happens Live, and E!'s Chelsea Lately in both the Persons 25-54 and Persons 18-49 demos.

Shark Week 2013 continues with new specials airing tonight Thursday, August 8 with Sharkpocalypse at 9PM and Alien Sharks at 10PM. Shark After Dark returns at 11PM with guests comedian Tom Green, wrestler Justin Gabriel, wildlife filmmaker Devon Massyn and conservationist Dr. Greg Stone.

Shark After Dark is produced for Discovery Channel by Embassy Row and Green Mountain West. Executive Producer for Embassy Row is Michael Davies.
