The 30th anniversary of shark programming premiered Sunday, July 22 making Discovery the #1 network on all of television in prime time across M25-54, P/M18-49, and P/M18-34 - topping all the broadcast networks. In Total Day, Discovery was cable's #1 network across adults, men, and women 25-54 and 18-49 and SHARK WEEK programming reached 11.5 million total viewers.
On SHARK WEEK 2018's premiere night, Discovery Channel claimed Sunday's top three cable telecasts across P/M25-54 and P/M18-49 with SHAQ DOES SHARK WEEK, RONDA ROUSEY UNCAGED, and BEAR vs SHARK. SHAQ DOES SHARK WEEK was also Sunday's most-watched cable telecast, averaging 3.37M Total Viewers and becoming one of the Top 10 highest-rated SHARK WEEK telecasts ever across P25-54 (#6), M25-54 (#7), and W25-54 (#8).
