According to the Nationalreview.com, NBC is developing a four-hour miniseries on the life and times of Hillary Clinton. Academy Award nominee Diane Lane is set to portray the former New York senator in the biopic which will air prior to the 2016 presidential elections.

The site's John Fund reports that the series will not include the Monica Lewinsky Scandal which rocked the second term of Hillary's husband, former President Bill Clinton. The series will feature "her successful 2000 Senate race, her loss to Barack Obama in the 2008 primaries, her time as secretary of state and her role in the Benghazi debacle."

Lane made her screen debut in George Roy Hill's 1979 film A Little Romance, starring opposite Sir Laurence Olivier. She has since appeared in several notable films, including the 2002 film Unfaithful, which earned her Academy Award, Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Lane has also starred in The Outsiders, The Perfect Storm,Under the Tuscan Sun, Cinema Verite, and, most recently, Man of Steel.
