The popular television program VOICES IN AMERICA, hosted by legendary star of the stage and screen James Earl Jones, recently announced that it will be devoting an entire short segment to the subject of diabetes. Diabetes is a debilitating health condition that is negatively affecting millions of people around the globe on a daily basis, but recent advancements in medical science may prove to be a significant breakthrough that sufferers have been waiting for.

There are three main types of diabetes that affect people across the world each day. The first is Type 1, which is characterized by the pancreas' inability to produce an appropriate amount of insulin. Type 2 diabetes is characterized by the body's development of a general insulin resistance, which is something that causes the body to respond improperly when insulin is created in the first place. Gestational diabetes is something that commonly occurs in pregnant women and can happen even if they have no other family or medical history of diabetes present before then.

VOICES IN AMERICA is a completely independent production and is not affiliated with either PBS or APT in any way. It currently airs in most areas around the country on Public Television Stations. People looking for more information about the upcoming segment on diabetes or any other topic covered on an episode of VOICE IN AMERICA are urged to visit the show's official website voicesinamericamedia.com today.
