TVGuide.com reports that Desperate Housewives' narrator Brenda Strong has signed on to narrate Investigation Discovery's new crime series BLOOD RELATIVES.

The series is described as a "dark, real-life family drama" and will premiere on Thursday, June 7 at 10/9c. Strong was the voice behind Desperate Housewive's Mary Alice Young, a character who committed suicide in the series pilot episode and narrated the show throughout its run on ABC. The actress will also star in the upcoming Dallas revival on TNT.

Investigation Discovery president and general manager Henry Schleiff commented on the network's choice of Strong, citing "mysterious and calculating tone." Adds Schleiff: "As the distinctive voice of Desperate Housewives, one of television's all-time great dramas, Brenda's narration of Blood Relatives adds an emotional depth to an already compelling series."
