Daytime Emmy Winner Steve Burton Joins Cast of CBS's YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

Announced today live on THE TALK, Daytime Emmy Award winner Steve Burton will join the #1 daytime drama THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. His first episode will air Tuesday, Jan. 29 on the CBS Television Network. Burton will play Dylan McAvoy, a rugged ex-soldier with a secret arriving in Genoa City.

Most recently, Burton played Jason Morgan on "General Hospital," a role he's had since 1991, winning him a Daytime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1998. His other credits include the television miniseries "Taken" and the film "The Last Castle." Also, he tours with his former GH castmates in his band "Port Chuck."

THE YOUNG AND THE Restless has been the #1-rated daytime drama for more than 24 consecutive years. The show is broadcast weekdays (12:30-1:30 PM, ET; 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, PT) on the CBS Television Network and is produced by Bell Dramatic Serial Company, in association with Sony Pictures Television. "Y&R" will celebrate its 40th anniversary on March 26, 2013.

CBS's daytime talk show THE TALK, network television's fastest-growing daytime program, (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT) features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities who examine current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is co-hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler. The hosts swap stories, challenge each other on issues and engage the studio audience and viewers at home about events in the headlines and their own homes. Show segments include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, musical performances, how-to demos and appearances from extraordinary people with stories that engage and inform. The show was developed by Gilbert, who also serves as executive producer.

CBS Daytime has been #1 in the daypart for 26 consecutive years, featuring a lineup that is a balance of dramas, game shows and talk.
