Indie Rights and Organically Grown Productions have announced the Digital HD debut of Michael McGuire's Aquarians. Shot and set in the snowy Midwest, Aquarians is headlined by three-time Daytime Emmy winner Chandler Massey (Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series, "Days of Our Lives"). The supporting cast includes Shane Coffey ("Pretty Little Liars"), Tracey Fairaway (A Hologram for the King) and Richard Riehle (The Man from Earth, Office Space).
Aquarians world premiered at the Twin Cities Film Fest, where it was the Runner Up for the Audience Award and Massey was nominated for Best Performance. The film went on to screen at the Driftless Film Festival, Palm Springs International Film Festival, Sedona Film Festival, Julien Dubuque Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, and the Beloit International Film Festival, where McGuire took home the award for Best Wisconsin Feature. Indie Rights will release Aquarians on Amazon Prime Video December 21st, with other platforms to follow in 2019.
Seminary student Danny Sullivan begrudgingly returns to his snow-covered hometown of Silver River to assist his terminally ill pastor Father Rob. But as questions swirl about the young deacon's family past, Danny recognizes the need to reconnect with his estranged brother, Jake. Danny sets off into the night woods to find Jake, setting in motion an emotional rollercoaster as the two undertake chores, attend church, go ice fishing and attempt to reconnect. As tensions erupt, the brothers find themselves in a violent confrontation over the past that set them on divergent paths in life.
