NBC SPORTS PRESENTS FIRST STANLEY CUP PLAYOFF GAMES ON Golf Channel TONIGHT

Due to programming conflicts on both usa network and CNBC, Golf Channel - NBC Sports Group's widely-distributed 24/7 sports network available in more than 70 million homes - will provide coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time, televising tonight's Lightning-Devils and Sharks-Ducks Game 4 matchups.

"I'm all for publicizing our great game of hockey on any and every platform, and as someone that also loves golf, I know that golfers are complete sports fanatics," said Jeremy Roenick, NHL on NBC analyst and scratch golfer. "These are two of the greatest sports on earth. The volume levels tonight in New Jersey and San Jose might be a little louder than the golf claps we're used to hearing at THE RYDER CUP or the Open Championship, but these athletes have the same passion and intensity, and passion and intensity are what the Stanley Cup Playoffs are all about."

Hockey players are known for their golfing prowess, and Roenick is one of numerous hockey legends that have played at the American Century Championship celebrity tournament in Lake Tahoe, including Wayne Gretzky, Brett Hull, Mario Lemieux, Joe Sakic, Martin Brodeur, T.J. Oshie, Mike Eruzione, and current Sharks captain Joe Pavelski, who will appear in the second game of Golf Channel's doubleheader at 10:30 p.m. ET.
