David Rockwell to Design Sets for 2009 Oscar Ceremony

Variety is reporting that Laurence Mark and Bill Condon have chosen Broadway veteran David Rockwell to design the sets for the 2009 Oscar ceremony.

Rockwell's company, The Rockwell Group, designed the Kodak Theater.

David Rockwell's latest set designs include HAIRSPRAY, LEGALLY BLONDE, and DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS. He has also designed the sets for THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW and the Cirque du Soleil building in Walt Disney World.

The 81st Annual Academy Awards will take place on February 22nd, 2009 with the nominations being announced on January 22nd, 2009.
