MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. is adding to its ranks.
According to TV Line, GHOST WHISPERER's David Conrad has boarded the freshman ABC series from Joss Whedon in an undisclosed role.
Though ABC declined to comment, execs have reportedly been on the hunt to cast a male in his 40s to play "a brilliant and quirky scientist," the site notes.

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel's feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents including: Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May and Chloe Bennet as the mysterious computer hacker Skye. Cobie Smulders will also reprise her AVENGERS role in a guest-starring format.
MARVEL'S THE AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to premiere on ABC on Sept. 24.
