According to Zap2it, Bryan Fuller, showrunner for the new NBC drama HANNIBAL, is eyeing rock star David Bowie to appear in a "major role" if the series is given the thumbs up to return next season.
"I guess my dream casting for the show would be to cast David Bowie as Hannibal Lecter's uncle," Fuller tells Getty Images Entertainment, courtesy of Zap2it. "If we get a second season I will reach out and see if there is any interest."
According to the report, Bowie has proven to be a fan of the Hannibal Lecter series and even attended the 2001 film premiere of 'Hannibal' the third installment of the movie franchise.
Fuller also revealed that he has high hopes that NBC will give the greenlight to a sophomore season of the show. "NBC are saying that they're very happy with where we are at so I hope that indicates towards a second season because I have a plan for Season 2 that I think would be very exciting," he shares. "I actually have story arcs through Season 7. I think seven seems about right."
