BONES star David Boreanaz posted several cryptic messages on his Twitter account yesterday which may indicate the end of the FOX series is imminent.
The actor first posted: "@David_Boreanaz You must always keep your options open and ready for New challenges. The fear is the unknown and that's exciting."
This was soon followed by: "@David_Boreanaz Let's put this in sports terms. I'm a free agent after this season. So the Bones fair well tour is in full-swing."
Referring to the show's upcoming appearance at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego, the actor posted: "@David_Boreanaz SDCC 2012 shld be a blast and quite possibly the last for #Bones ? Farewell tour? Look forward to seeing everyone there."
Although Boreanaz did not officially state that the series is ending, his twitter comments have fueled speculation that its days are indeed numbered. Show executive Hart Hanson as well as series co-star Emily Deschanel have not commented on the posts.
In a statement issued in March, Kevin Reilly, president of entertainment at FOX commented, "Over the past seven seasons, Hart Hanson, Stephen Nathan and the incredible 'Bones' cast and crew have redefined the traditional crime procedural with an irreverent and adventurous sensibility and I'm really happy to have this distinctive, fan-favorite on our schedule for another season."
