David Attenborough Hosts Discovery's 'First Life' This Fall

Award-winning, world-renowned natural scientist Sir David Attenborough travels the globe on an unforgettable quest to explain the origins of modern life in Discovery Channel's FIRST LIFE premiering this fall. Blending state of the art CGI with an array of exotic locations and Attenborough's signature exuberance and master storytelling, FIRST LIFE documents how nature's first animals evolved and ultimately gave rise to the modern animals we know today.

Exploring the origins of our past, FIRST LIFE looks at a wide variety of animals, some almost alien looking, but still at the foundation for life today. From a millipede once larger than a car to creatures with multiple eyes, FIRST LIFE showcases the incredible range of creatures that once roamed the earth and why they are no longer living.

With fascinatingly detailed explanations, Attenborough studies the possible development of the digestive tract, how some species evolved from having more than 5,000 lenses as eyes and how the existence of a "living fossil" could be possible.
