It was announced today that Danny Masterson has exited Netflix's comedy THE RANCH after multiple sexual assault allegations. A statement from a Netflix Spokesperson announced Masterson's departure: "As a result of ongoing discussions, Netflix and the producers have written Danny Masterson out of THE RANCH. Yesterday was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him."
Now, Masterson is responding to his termination from the Netflix comedy. In a statement to the Huffington Post, the actor fights back against the sexual assault allegations.
"I am obviously very disappointed in Netflix's decision to write my character off of THE RANCH. From day one, I have denied the outrageous allegations against me. I have never been charged with a crime, let alone convicted of one. In this country, you are presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, in the current climate, it seems as if you are presumed guilty the moment you are accused. I understand and look forward to clearing my name once and for all."
The news comes amid four separate claims by women who accused the actor of rape. The allegations are currently under investigation by both The Los Angeles County District Attorney and Los Angeles Police Department.
Part four of THE RANCH is set to debut on Netflix on December 15th. Additional episodes are set to premiere some time in 2018. It is unclear how many episodes will debut this month and how many will be held until next year. Masterson will appear in some episodes released after December 15th that he has already filmed. Masterson also serves as executive producer credit on the series.About THE RANCH: Being a pro athlete didn't pan out for Colt.
