The Guardian reports that award-winning director Danny Boyle is currently working on a feature-length DVD of the 2012 Olympics opening ceremonies. The film will include the director's insight into the spectacular production.

Included in the project will be the ceremony's music, provided by Underworld, as well as the music of Dizzee Rascal and the montage that is already available on the iTunes downloads chart. Also featured will be the film clips which appeared in the show. The director commented that he "hopes to make things clearer on the DVD, giving people time to spot the references and links that passed by in a flash and which weren't always picked up by the TV cameras."

The event was watched by record-breaking numbers of viewers throughout the world. Boyle's production is being praised as one of the finest opening ceremony in the history of the Olympic Games.
