Variety reports that Danny Boyle will direct a pilot for a new cop drama series for the U.K.'s Channel 4. Titled 'Babylon', the project is set to air early next year. Channel 4 chief creative officer Jay Hunt announced the news yesterday at the Edinburgh International TV Festival.
The show, written by Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong. U.K.'s Nightjack will produce the as-yet-untitled series.
Boyle, a three-time Academy Award nominee, won an Oscar for his direction of the 2008 Best Picture winner "Slumdog Millionaire." His newest feature, "Trance," opened earlier this year.
