The New York Times has reported that the new James Bond film will be directed by Danny Boyle. Boyle won the best director Oscar in 2009 for Slumdog Millionaire. Daniel Craig will reprise his role as the title character.
The screenplay for the upcoming film is written by John Hodge, who was nominated for an Oscar in 1997 for Trainspotting, which was also directed by Boyle. The script will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade who wrote the last six Bond films.
This new film marks the first not to be directed by Sam Mendes since 2008's Quantum of Solace. Mendes directed the last two installments, Spectre and Skyfall.
Filming is set to begin this December, and the movie is slated for a release in Britain in October 2019 and NORTH AMERICA in November 2019.
Plot, details, and a title have yet to be announced.
