The James Bond producers and star Daniel Craig announced that Danny Boyle was exiting the 25th installment of the series, which he had been set to direct, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The official James Bond Twitter account tweeted, "Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25." See full tweet below.

In March Boyle revealed he was going to direct the next Bond film after directing an untitled comedy starring Lily James and Kate McKinnon. John Hodge was writing a script for the next Bond based on an idea from Boyle. A previous draft of the film was written by Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre writers' Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

Production on the next James Bond, which is rumored to be Craig's last, has been set to begin in December for a U.S. release date of Nov. 8, 2019 and a U.K. release on Oct. 25, 2019.
