According to The Daily News, actor Daniel Craig is being offered the opportunity to do five additional James Bond films after he has completed filming his current Bond epic. If Craig accepts the reported multi-million dollar offer, it would bring his total number of Bond flicks to eight and make him the longest running 007 of all time.
Michael G. Wilson, producer of the Bond film, recently told The Daily Mail that he would love the 43-year-old actor to do an additional five more films. Currently holding the record for longest running Bond actor is Roger Moore, with seven, followed by Sean Connery, with six and Pierce Brosnan, with four.
The producer noted, "Filming has gone very well so far and I'd love Daniel to surpass Roger's record and do eight pictures. Daniel's been an absolute pleasure to be around because he takes the role so seriously. There's really no one more passionate about making these films work than him - he's a film maker's dream. A lot of people have said Daniel's been their favorite Bond since Sean Connery and I can't argue with them. He's doing a great job"
Craig's current Bond film, 'Skyfall' is being directed by Sam Mendes. The movie is scheduled to open in late 2012 and stars Javier Bardem, Judy Dench, Berenice Marlohe, Naomi Harris and Ralph Fiennes.
Craig was last seen on stage opposite Hugh Jackman in the Broadway production of A STEADY RAIN. Film credits include: Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Road to Perdition (2002), Sword of Honour (2001), The Mother (2003), Layer Cake (2004), Enduring Love (2004) with Rhys Ifans, Steven Spielberg's Munich (2005), Infamous (2006), and The Golden Compass (2007).
