Dane Cook returns to the stage with his directorial debut in DANE COOK TROUBLEMAKER, premiering tonight, October 17th at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on SHOWTIME. Filmed last fall in front of a raucous audience, Cook's acerbic wit and patented brand of provocative, on-fire comedic insight skewers the hilarious aspects of everyday life and human behavior. This comedy event shows off Cook's ability to not only perform in-depth comedy routines, but film them in a style that speaks to a new generation of comedy fans everywhere.

In TROUBLEMAKER, Cook dismantles the modern-day relationship, holds a mirror up to society and generally torches observational humor to the bone. Cook shares his beliefs and perspectives with his fans and he does not hold back. Delving into a wide range of topics from tech relationships to blowing the lid off of gender secrets to our hidden Internet lives and how we mask our depression, joy and temptations - no topic is off limits.

Dane Cook has maintained his reputation as one of today's most prolific stand-up comedians selling out Madison Square Garden multiple times over, while simultaneously distinguishing himself as a charismatic and versatile actor in a variety of film and television projects. Cook recently wrapped his 20-date "Under Oath" tour. With this set, he aimed to emulate the tone of 2003's Harmful If Swallowed album, which just celebrated its 10-year anniversary. He is well known for his successful comedy albums, including Harmful If Swallowed; Retaliation; Vicious Circle; Rough Around The Edges: Live From Madison Square Garden; ISolated INcident; and Dane Cook: I Did My Best - Greatest Hits. In 2006, Retaliation became the highest charting comedy album in 28 years and went Double Platinum, earning him a place alongside best-selling comedy vets Bill Cosby, George Carlin and Steve Martin. Cook created, directed and starred in the nine-part comedy documentary series, Tourgasm and wrote, executive produced and starred in Vicious Circle, a feature-length stand-up event.

His other film and TV credits include starring roles in My Best Friend's Girl, opposite Kate Hudson; Dan In Real Life, opposite Steve Carell; Mr. Brooks, opposite Kevin Costner; and a guest starring role on the hit show, Louie, opposite Louis C.K., just to name a few. Cook recently reprised his role as The Voice of "Dusty" in Disney's animated film Planes: Fire & Rescue, the sequel to Planes, which is currently in theaters and has grossed almost $80 million worldwide.
