Audiences everywhere will be inspired to leap for the stars and realize their dreams when global mega-brand DANCE ACADEMY returns to the screen in a BIG way with its first-ever full-length major motion picture, Dance Academy: The Comeback! Starring much-loved original members of the DANCE ACADEMY "troupe" - Xenia Goodwin, Thomas Lacey, Keiynan Lonsdale, Alicia Banit, Dena Kaplan, and Jordan Rodrigues - along with fresh faces Nic Westaway and Miranda Otto, the new film, based on the two-time Emmy-nominated DANCE ACADEMY Australian TV series, will dance its way into the hearts of viewers of all ages on March 2, 2018.

"Fans have been clamoring for more DANCE ACADEMY and we are so excited to invite viewers across the U.S. and Canada back into the lives of their favorite characters as they continue to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams," said Joanna Werner, Executive Producer of Dance Academy: The Comeback. "The new movie also introduces some exciting new characters as Tara leaves Sydney behind for the bright lights of New York City."

Hailed by critics as "a slumber-party staple for years to come" (Screen Space), Dance Academy: THE COMEBACK continues the story of Tara Webster (Xenia Goodwin), who was destined to become one of the top dancers of her generation before a devastating injury crippled her career. Although she tried to embrace life as a university student, Tara cannot give up her dream of dancing professionally. In her quest to defy the odds in a near impossible comeback, Tara leaves her life and love behind in Sydney and travels to New York. But as the rejections pile up, and Tara tears herself apart trying to fit the unrelenting ballet mold, she must learn to find, and trust, her own voice before she loses everything that truly matters in the pursuit of a dream.

Dance Academy: The Comeback, directed by Jeffrey Walker, will bound into theaters in select cities in the U.S. and Canada on March 2 (see full schedule below), along with Digital and TV-VOD platforms. The new film will also be made available on DVD from Cinedigm starting April 3.

To celebrate the release of Dance Academy: The Comeback, the film will be PROMOTED at the USA Varsity Spirit events at the Anaheim Convention Center from Friday, February 23, to Sunday, February 25. Varsity, which runs UDA and USA Dance, the two largest dance camps in the nation, is holding the USA Spirit Nationals, USA Jr. Nationals and USA Collegiate Championships. On Saturday, cast members from the film will participate in a special meet-and-greet at the event; in addition, a Dance Academy-themed green screen photo booth and movie discount coupon giveaway will be held all weekend.

A premiere screening of the film will also take place in Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 27, at Raleigh Studios. Cast members Jordan Rodrigues (Christian), Alicia Banit (Kat) and Dena Kaplan (Abigail) will be on the red carpet at the event.
