Dan Cortese (MTV Sports, Veronica's Closet, Surviving Suburbia) has signed on to host truTV's exciting new series Guinness World Records Gone Wild, which started production today in Santa Monica, Calif. Set to premiere later this year on truTV, Guinness World Records Gone Wild challenges people to push themselves to do astonishing things for their place in history. The one-hour series is being produced for truTV by High Noon Entertainment (Tough Love, Cake Boss, Hurricane Hunters).

"Like the title says, Guinness World Records Gone Wild is a wild hour of television," said Marc Juris, executive vice president and chief operating officer for truTV. "This is an exciting show that really puts you on The Edge of your seat while also making you laugh out loud at the crazy things some people will do to break a record. Dan Cortese is the perfect host to bring the excitement and thrills of Guinness World Records Gone Wild home to viewers."

For years, Guinness World Records have delighted, astonished and amazed readers with its book of incredible achievements. Now in Guinness World Records Gone Wild, the curtain will be drawn back to reveal what really goes on when the most unbelievable, jaw-dropping records are attempted.

Each episode of Guinness World Records Gone Wild will feature daring and fearless record hopefuls as they attempt to secure a place in the record book. Among the records the show will set out to break are the most panes of glass run through in one minute, fastest time to jump over three oncoming cars, highest dive into 12 inches of water, most kicks to the head in one minute, most live cockroaches held in the mouth and the most people crammed into a tiny car, to name a few. Each attempt will be evaluated by Guinness World Record officials, who have the final say over whether a record is broken.

In addition to Cortese, Guinness World Records Gone Wild will feature Stuart Claxton, the show's primary Guinness World Records adjudicator. Liz Smith, also of Guinness World Records, and actor/musician Zach Selwyn (Greek, Battleship) will provide commentary on the action.

Guinness World Records Gone Wild is executive-produced by High Noon Entertainment's Pamela Healey and Jim Berger, along with Andrew Golder. For Guinness World Records, Rob Molloy is executive producer. For truTV, Adam Dolgins serves as executive in charge of production, with Angel Annussek as executive producer and Jim Pasquarella as coordinating producer.
