After being eliminated on last night's episode of DANCING WITH THE STARS, Chaz Bono looked back on his experience fondly, "This experience really exceeded any expectations I had. It will probably forever affect my life," said Bono. "It gave me confidence in myself that I didn't have before and a physical awareness and a knowledge I can do more than I thought I could."
Bono, who is transgender, took his final interview on the show as an opportunity to make a plea for acceptance to America. "I wanted to show America a different kind of man. If there was someone like me on TV when I was a kid, my whole life would have been different."
Prior to harsh criticism from the judges after his performance on Monday night's show, Bono lashed out saying, "If you're an overweight woman losing weight, they love you. If you're an overweight guy getting in shape, they penalize you for it. I was called a basketball, a penguin an ewok. I didn't appreciate it. If you're going to critique my dancing and give me constructive advice, that would be great. But I don't know how to be less penguin-esque, so I took offense with that!"
Asked who he would now root for to win the infamous mirror ball trophy, Bono replied, "I loved everyone on this cast, so for me it can't be about personalities. I have to pick the best dancer. For me it's always been J.R.," says Bono. "And he's a great guy, I think we can all agree on that."
