DOCTOR WHO 50th Anniversary Special to Be Broadcast Around the World Simultaneously

According to a Radio Times report, which the official "Doctor Who" Tumblr shared, the show's 50th Anniversary special will be broadcast around the world at the same time.

A statement released by BBC Worldwide noted, "It's always been our ambition to work with our broadcast partners so that international 'Doctor Who' fans can enjoy the 50th Anniversary special at the same time as the UK. We'll have more details soon about our very exciting global plans for November."

The episode, which will see the reunion of Matt Smith's Doctor with David Tennant's tenth, has been sold to 200 countries worldwide. It is estimated the televison event will be watched by more than 100 million viewers, making it the biggest global drama simulcast in history. It will also be shown in cinemas throughout the UK.
