In a nod to the ratings success of its fantasy destination programming, HGTV has renewed ISLAND LIFE and Island Hunters. Sister net DIY Network has ordered more episodes of the real estate competition series Texas Flip and Move, Garage Gold, starring "junk picker" Kraig Bantle, and Building Alaska, a series that features daring individuals who set out to construct their dream properties in the obscure Alaskan wilderness.

"We've achieved 11 consecutive months of ratings growth at HGTV, and DIY Network's prime impressions are up 8% this quarter," said Allison Page, general manager, HGTV and DIY Network. "Island Life, Island Hunters, Building Alaska, GARAGE GOLD and TEXAS FLIP AND MOVE are among the consistent performers on our networks, so we want to keep our programming pipeline filled with new episodes."

HGTV offers the slice-of-paradise series Island Life, which follows homeowners who are ready to shed THE HUSTLE and bustle for the perfect island home. ISLAND HUNTERS features families in search of the ultimate tropical getaway - their own private island.

At DIY Network, TEXAS FLIP AND MOVE follows three teams of real estate risk-takers who race against time to renovate homes, move them to a new lot and flip them for the biggest profit. In this competition, the teams buy dilapidated houses at auction and move the structures off the property that day - a task that can be downright dangerous. DIY Network also delivers a different kind of adrenalin rush with Garage Gold. The series follows Kraig Bantle and his team as they clean out junk-filled spaces for free - with a twist: homeowners get the tidy garage and Kraig gets to keep whatever treasures he finds. And, for those who prefer dream properties built in the wilderness, BUILDING ALASKA showcases the construction of off-the-grid the homes.
