Performer, actor, comedian and musician Jim Belushi is coming to DIY Network in Building Belushi. The six-episode series, which premieres tonight, July 11, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, follows Jim and his team of experts as they build a riverfront retreat cabin outside of Medford in Southern Oregon.
For Jim, it's been a busy three decades, with starring roles in films, television, and on Broadway, and of course on the long-running television series According to Jim. He also tours the country with his improv comedy troupe The Board of Comedy, The Sacred Hearts Band and alongside Dan Ackroyd as The Blues Brothers. Belushi says he is now looking forward to unwinding on the river with friends and family. Jim, a home-renovation enthusiast, is ready for this challenge on the ROGUE River.
"Building Belushi is the story of how I built the 'Rogue's Lair,'" said Jim. "I go to a deeper, soulful place when I'm here." After purchasing 13 acres of a former 1930s Elks picnic ground, Jim and his team begin the process of constructing his own retreat cabin. In each episode, Jim seeks to craft his vision to fit with the powerful and spiritual ROGUE River and its surrounding natural landscape. Yet, he has to manage the often unpredictable realities and set-backs of home building and renovation.Videos
