NBCSN's Major League Soccer coverage this weekend features D.C. United hosting Chicago Fire on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET, immediately following NBCSN's Premier League coverage.
The
Chicago Fire look to break into the top half of the Eastern Conference with last year's MLS MVP Mike Magee, and captain and midfielder Jeff Larentowicz, who scored his second goal of the season against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday, while the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup champion D.C. United are led by U.S. Men's National Team striker Eddie Johnson. The teams also feature next generation American goalkeepers in Chicago's Sean Johnson and D.C. United's Bill Hamid.
COMMENTATORS:
NBC Sports Group's lead play-by-play announcer John Strong calls the match joined by and former Premier League footballer Robbie Mustoe and host Russ Thaler at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC.
Strong on D.C. United v. Chicago Fire: "I'm excited to see D.C. United in person for the first time this season. They were my pick for the MLS 'turnaround team of the year' with all the offseason additions they put around a core of talented young players. Chicago has reigning MVP Mike Magee, a new, championship-winning coach in Frank Yallop, and a chance to take points off a D.C. team that they'll be battling with for a playoff spot in the fall."
