DATELINE Increases Viewership with Time Slot Shift

Friday Primetime Ratings (some preemptions for Hurricane Matthew coverage):

"Dateline NBC" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 1.1 in adults 25-54, 4.2 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET):

Grows from its first half-hour to its fourth by +29% in adults 18-49 (0.7 to 0.9) and +30% in adults 25-54 (1.0 to 1.3).

For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., tied for #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and ranked #2 outright among those networks, ahead of ABC's "20/20," in adults, men and women 25-54 and total viewers.

Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting - "Dateline" is growing by +30% this season in 18-49 rating (from a 1.0 to a 1.3) and more than 1.2 million viewers overall (4.6 million to 5.9 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

An encore telecast of "Timeless" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 3.2 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET, for NBC's top total-viewer result in the slot since Sept. 2 (3.311 million with an "America's Got Talent" encore).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday Night:

In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.4/6; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.1/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/4 with an encore.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/3; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3, with an encore.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/4 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.3/2 with an encore.

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
