Best known for his Oscar winning portrayal of pro-football player Rod Tidwell in Jerry Maguire, Cuba Gooding, Jr. has also received critical acclaim for other roles in films including Boyz in the Hood, As Good as It Gets, and A Few Good Men. In 1997, Gooding was honored with the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in Jerry Maguire, in addition to the Screen Actors Guild Award, the Broadcasters Film Critics Award and the Critics' Choice Award. His resume also includes major roles in motion pictures such as Men of Honor, Pearl Harbor, Radio, American Gangster, and Lee Daniel's The Butler, in which he received a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast.
