Netflix has officailly brought Drew Goddard on as showrunner for its upcoming series based upon Marvel's beloved superhero DAREDEVIL, after initial reports last month.
Marve has confirmed that the former BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and LOST writer, who recently helmed Joss Whedon's CABIN IN THE WOODS, has inked a deal to write and direct the series' pilot,, which was announced to be a part of a slew of live-action shows following four of Marvel's most popular characters, which would lead into an eventual miniseries.
Daredevil's spin on television will be followed by series following Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, taking Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell's Kitchen, New York. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, thirteen episodes series and a culminating Marvel's "The Defenders" mini-series event that reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.
DAREDEVIL is slated for a 2015 release on Netflix.
