It was only a few weeks ago when Alec Baldwin shared with Vanity Fair that his greatest wish is to end his days in the public eye and hoped that his then soon-to-be born child would never know him as a celebrity. "I'd love to if I could, yeah," said the actor. "That would be the greatest thing in the world."
Now People.com reveals that the 30 Rock Emmy winner is set to host the hour-long UP LATE WITH ALEC BALDWIN on MSNBC beginning this October. Guess his plans have changed!
"After two seasons of my WNYC podcast, I've developed a fondness for hosting a show that involved talking with smart, talented, and engaging people in every imaginable field," says the often controversial star."I'm grateful to MSNBC for helping me bring a similar show to television."
Baldwin's podcast Here's the Thing, which debuted in 2011, has featured interviews with politicians, policy-makers, and performers, such as David Letterman and Dick Cavett. The actor recently appeared on Broadway in Orphans and has also taken the stage in Twentieth Century, Short Talks on the Universe, A Streetcar Named Desire, Serious Money and Loot, as well as off-Broadway's South Pacific, Macbeth and Prelude to a Kiss.
He is well known for his portrayal of 'Jack Donaghy' on NBC's 30 Rock and will next appear on the big screen in Caught Stealing.
