NBC UNIVERSO, the modern entertainment and sports cable channel for Latinos, premieres the third episode of TOP CHEF MEXICO this Thursday, March 3 at 9pm/8C. This week the Quick-fire challenge sees the remaining 13 Cheftestants scrambling to make the perfect omelet and as they soon discover, the simplest things can be the hardest to execute. Chef Guillermo Gonzalez Beristain and host Ana Claudia Talancón evaluate each of the unique omelets, some of which were required to have up to nine ingredients.

Last week the competitors faced a daunting challenge in the Mexican state of Hidalgo, where they had to form teams and make traditional barbacoa outdoors from dusk until dawn. Once the sun rose and the final bite had been taken, it was Alejandra Garcia who was burned and ended up eliminated from the competition.

This Thursday, after the grueling challenge in Hidalgo, the judges decide to treat the competitors with a dinner at one of the most exclusive restaurants in Mexico City, Biko, owned by world renowned chef Mikel Alonso. However, what is supposed to be a nice relaxing dinner for the cheftestants soon turns into a fierce competition based on memory. In typical TOP CHEF fashion, the chefs learn that in order to stay in the competition they must replicate a dish they had during their dinner at Biko.

The guest judge evaluating each dish is none other than the owner and creator of these dishes, Mikel Alonso. Each chef must not only replicate a dish based solely on their memory and taste but also add their own personality into each culinary creation. Ultimately, judges Guillermo González Beristáin , Aquiles Chávez, Juantxo Sánchez give the final verdict and decide who is cut from the competition.
