Demetri Martin returns to COMEDY CENTRAL to tell jokes while standing up in the world premiere of his original one-hour stand-up special, Demetri Martin. STANDUP COMEDIAN. premiering tonight, September 29 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Filmed at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in New York City, Martin's second hour-long special showcases what fans love about his style – sharp one-liners and hilarious observations about our language, culture and everyday existence, bolstered by his signature illustrations, diagrams and drawings.  With his easel and guitar in tow, Martin brings his unique perspective to topics large and small – from the uselessness of silent letters to why it is, exactly, that we suspect dead people are "spinning in their graves."

The "Demetri Martin. Standup Comedian." extended and uncensored DVD will be released by COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment on October 2.  The DVD includes over 15 minutes of material not seen in the broadcast, plus a selection of bonus features that include audio commentary, commentary on the audio commentary, an art slide show of rejected concepts, and joke variations.

Also on October 2, COMEDY CENTRAL Records will release the extended and uncensored "Demetri Martin. Standup Comedian." CD.  The CD was recorded separately with additional audio-friendly material.

The special also will be available on October 2 in HD on iTunes, Zune Video Marketplace on Xbox, Sony PlayStation Network, Amazon Instant Video, and Vudu.

Leading up to the on-air premiere, the COMEDY CENTRAL Stand-Up Web site will feature preview clips from the special as well as exclusive clips from the DVD.  For fans that pre-order via Martin's website, DemetriMartin.com, there is also a limited edition bundle available, which includes the DVD and CD, an exclusive t-shirt, and a signed art print.

Demetri Martin is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor, who has worked in television, stage, film and print.  He has been a correspondent on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," and a staff writer at "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."  On COMEDY CENTRAL, Martin created and starred in the series "Important Things with Demetri Martin," and appeared in his first hour-long stand-up special, "Demetri Martin. Person."  Martin also has released a stand-up comedy album called "These Are Jokes" on COMEDY CENTRAL Records, and starred in the Ang Lee film "Taking Woodstock."

Martin's "This is a Book by Demetri Martin" is a New York Times Bestseller, and his writing has been featured in publications including The New YorkerWired Magazine, and Playboy.  His new book, "Point Your Face at This," will be available inMarch 2013.  Martin won the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for his one-man show, "If I."
