Claudia Foghini, an industry veteran in television production and operations, has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Production Strategy, Telemundo Studios. She will continue to be based in Miami and will report to Joshua Mintz, Executive Vice President, Scripted Programming and General Manager, Telemundo Studios.
In her new role, Foghini will work directly with
Telemundo Studios management in overseeing and managing all original in-house, third party and joint venture productions. She will also work with
Telemundo sales team in product placement integrations and development of concepts to client partners and serve as
Telemundo Studios' liaison with other departments at
Telemundo Media.
"Claudia's extensive television production experience and broad industry experience will play an important role in the continued evolution of
Telemundo Studios," said Mintz. "She will be instrumental in developing new partnerships and working on connecting with our audiences and content across the
Telemundo Media portfolio."
Foghini most recently has been serving as Senior
Vice President of Content for the
Telemundo Station Group. Foghini first joined
Telemundo in 2000 as a senior writer for the network's morning show and progressed through the ranks of producer, line producer and senior producer for various key programs. In 2006, Foghini was promoted to Chief of Telemundo/NBC's Mexico Bureau and her leadership in news operations, content and development of key partnerships in the community earned her credibility in the local television industry. In 2008, she was named
Vice President of Operations and Broadcast Network News for
Telemundo Media and served as Senior
Vice President of
Telemundo News from 2010-2012.
Foghini has vast experience in news, live television and other special events. She has worked as line and field producer for various Olympics, Miss Universe, Billboard Latin Music Awards, as well as the Mexican Presidential elections in 2006 and 2012, the U.S. Presidential elections in 2008 and 2012, the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the death of Pope John Paul II and the election of Pope Benedict XVI, the royal wedding of William and Kate and the aftermaths of hurricane Katrina, among many others.
Foghini began her television broadcasting career in Ecuador as an editor and producer before she relocated to the United States. She holds degrees in law and political science from Universidad Católica in Guayaquil, Ecuador and in Radio and Television Broadcasting in Washington, D.C.
