Deadline is reporting that Bryan Fuller, creator of the TV series 'Pushing Daisies', is set to have two new series, 'The Munsters' and 'Hannibal', on the horizon for the NBC network.
Last season, Fuller had created a new adaptation of the 1960's comedy show, 'The Munsters' for NBC and the network had 'kept it in play' when new NBC chief Bob Greenblatt took over the reins in January. The draft for the rebooted series was submitted to the network in September and just this past Friday, a first draft was delivered for approval. It is believed that as early as this week, NBC will put in an official order for the new series, and it could become a potential summer series or event.
All the beloved characters from the original series, including Grandpa, Herman, Lily, Lily's niece Marilyn and the Munster's son, Eddie are set to appear in this latest reincarnation of the show. In the show, Eddie's werewolf characteristics begin to appear as he approaches puberty, forcing the family to relocate once again to the house on 1313 Mockingbird Lane.
Fuller is also in the process of writing the script for 'Hannibal' based on the film character 'Hannibal Lecter'. He is currently attached to a live-action version of 'Pinocchio' with Warner Brothers and two cable projects with NBCU.
