Raising $27,000 for children's hospitals is all in a day's work for two of Marvel's top superheroes.
Chris Pratt and Chris Evans, Starlord and Captain America, respectively, have raised funds for Christopher's Haven children's hospital following their own superbowl bet, according to Entertainment Weekly. The $27,000 was split between Christopher's Haven and Seattle Children's Hospital.
Per EW:
"Pratt's a Seahawks fan, while Evans is a New England Patriots fan, so the two made a bet that whoever lost would have to dress up in costume as their Marvel superhero character and visit a children's hospital of the winner's choosing."
With the Patriots' win, Pratt donned his Starlord costume and headed to Christopher's Haven in Boston alongside Evans. There, the pair signed jerseys and autographs, as well as posed with patients and visitors.
Pratt portrays Andy Dwyer on NBC's hit comedy series "Parks and Recreation," which airs its final season in January.
Pratt most recently toplined Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" as 'Star-Lord,' which was the #1 grossing films of 2014 in the U.S. and more than $600 million at the global box office.
Earlier this year, Pratt lent his vocal talents to Emmett in the enormously successful Warner Bros. animated feature "The Lego Movie," which earned more than $400 million worldwide.
Pratt can next be seen in "Jurassic World," directed by Colin Trevorrow and slated for June release.
In November 2013, Chris appeared in the comedy "Delivery Man," opposite Vince Vaughn and Cobie Smulders.
Pratt also starred in "Five-Year Engagement" with Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, and Alison Brie in 2012. In the same year, he portrayed an iconic member of SEAL Team Six in Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty," which was nominated for best picture for both the Golden Globes and Academy Awards.
In 2011, Pratt starred in "Moneyball" where he delivered a memorable performance as Oakland A's first baseman, Scott Hatteberg. The film also starred Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill and Philip Seymour Hoffman and received six Academy Award nominations, including a nomination for best picture.
Evans is best known for his superhero roles as Johnny Storm / Human Torch in Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007); and Steve Rogers / Captain America inCaptain America: The First Avenger (2011), Marvel's The Avengers (2012) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), a role he will reprise inAvengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Evans began his career on the television series Opposite Sex (2000), moving to film in 2001 with Not Another Teen Movie.
