Freestyle Releasing and Freestyle Digital Media have announced April 24, 2015 as the theatrical and VOD release date for AFTER THE BALL, the hilarious and sweet romantic comedy that puts a fashionable twist on the classic Cinderella story. Portia Doubleday (CARRIE, "Mr. Sunshine") and Chris Noth (SEX AND THE CITY, "The Good Wife") star as father and daughter in this fashion industry family story where CINDERELLA, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, and SHE'S THE MAN converge! Notable appearances by Colin Mochrie ("Whose Line Is It, Anyway?") and Lauren Holly ("NCIS,") in a hilarious turn as an "evil stepmother" round out the cast. AFTER THE BALL was directed by Sean Garrity, written by Jason Sherman and Kate Melville and executive produced by Kirk D'Amico, Emily Alden and Kevin Forester. Don Carmody, Robin Crumley, Gabriella Martinelli, and Jane Silverstone-Segal served as producers.

AFTER THE BALL was produced by Don Carmody Productions, Martinelli Productions and Jane Silverstone Productions in association with Telefilm Canada, Movie Central and The Movie Network and with the participation of the Ontario Media Development Corporation.

Pacific Northwest Pictures and TVA Films released the film theatrically in Canada on February 27th to great reviews.

Kate Kassell's (Doublday) dream is to design couture clothing, but after graduating at the head of her class in fashion school the harsh reality hits -- no one will hire her. Sure, she's got a fantastic eye, but she's also the daughter of retail guru and knockoff pioneer Lee Kassell (Noth), whose stores sell clothes "inspired" by the very designers Kate wants to work for. Kate is left with no choice but to join Kassell Clothing, where she must navigate around a duplicitous stepmother and two wicked stepsisters, whose aim is to discredit her at every turn. But through a budding romance with a prince of a guy in the shoe department, her godmother's vintage clothes and a fall down funny switch of identities, Kate is able to expose the evil trio, save Kassell Clothing -- and prove that it's what's on the inside that counts.

AFTER THE BALL features an unprecedented partnership with the Canadian designer and retailer Le Chateau, who partnered with costume designer Mario Davignon ("Pillars of the Earth," SUCK) to create all the looks in the film.

"Freestyle Releasing fell in love with After the Ball," said Mark Borde, President of Freestyle. "It's a perfect day and date film with a great message to young ladies to always be true to themselves."

Myriad Pictures negotiated the US deal with Freestyle Releasing and is handling worldwide sales on the film.

Recent Freestyle titles include the box office hit GOD'S NOT DEAD, Michael Jai White action flick FALCON RISING, wholesome romance OLD FASHIONED, THREE NIGHT STAND starring Emmanuelle Chriqui, LEFT BEHIND starring Nicolas Cage, and TIGER EYES, the first big screen adaptation of a Judy Blume novel starring Willa Holland.
