Chris Diamantopoulos Joins Cast of EMPIRE STATE

Deadline.com reports that Chris Diamantopoulos has joined the cast of the upcoming film EMPIRE STATE. The actor joins previously announced cast members Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Emma Roberts and Liam Hemsworth.

The film will be directed by Dito Montiel with Adam Mazer writing the script. David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman, George Furla and Randall Emmett are producing.

EMPIRE STATE will follow the true story of "two friends in the 1980s that stole all the money stored at an armored car company." Diamantopoulos will portray a mob boss who believes the two friends might be responsible for the caper even though the rest of New York believes it was a major criminal conspiracy.

Diamantopoulos starred on Broadway in The Full Monty (2002) and Les Misérables (2003). He portrayed Robin Williams in Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Mork & Mindy. He has guest-starred in several series, including Kevin Hill, Charmed, The Sopranos, Nip/Tuck, and Boston Legal. In 2007 he appeared opposite Debra Messing in the USA Network mini-series The Starter Wife, where he gave a memorable performance as the gay interior decorator character of Rodney.

Diamantopoulos had a recurring role on the Lifetime drama series State of Mind. He also guest-voiced on American Dad! in 2009. On the eighth season of the Fox series 24 Diamantopoulos played President Allison Taylor's Chief of Staff Rob Weiss. He played Frank Sinatra in the TV miniseries, The Kennedys. Diamantopoulos played Moe Howard in the 2012 The Three Stooges film.
