Cherry Jones and Bradley Whitford have joined Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen in I SAW THE LIGHT, the story of legendary country western singer Hank Williams, who in his brief life created one of the greatest bodies of work in American music.
I SAW THE LIGHT is directed by Marc Abraham from his screenplay which chronicles William's meteoric rise to fame and its ultimately tragic effect on his health and personal life. It is based on Colin Escott's award winning biography.
RatPac Entertainment presents a Bron Studios/RatPac Entertainment production, in association with Creative Wealth Media Finance, I SAW THE LIGHT is currently in production in Louisiana. RatPac's Brett Ratner and Bron Studios Aaron L. Gilbert produce alongside G. Marq Roswell and Marc Abraham. James Packer of RatPac Entertainment and Jason Cloth of Creative Wealth Media Finance are executive producers. Patty Long is the line producer/executive producer. Denise Chamian is the casting director.
Cherry Jones, who will play William's mother, Lillie, is well known for her Emmy award-winning role as the president in the hit television series 24, as well as her Tony award-winning Broadway roles in The Heiress and Doubt.
Whitford will play Fred Rose, Nashville s most important music publisher who helped guide Williams' career and also served as a close friend through some of the performer's roughest times. Whitford is well known to audiences from The West Wing and most recently appeared in Transparent.
Bron recently completed production on the feature film MEADOWLAND, a psychological thriller starring Olivia Wilde, Luke Wilson, Giovanni Ribisi, Elizabeth Moss, June Temple and others; and is in production on the animated feature film HENCHMEN, in partnership with Gary Sanchez Productions. The Bron Studios/Gary Sanchez production WELCOME TO ME, starring Kristen Wiig, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
