According to Deadline, Channing Tatum is currently eyeing a "major role" in Quentin Tarantino's new Western THE HATEFUL EIGHT.
Should he sign on, Tatum will join Samuel L. Jackson (Major Warren), Kurt Russell (John Ruth), Tim Roth (Oswaldo Mobray), Michael Madsen (Joe Gage) and Walton Goggins (Chris Mannix) and Denis Menochet (Bob) and, of course, Bruce Dern (General Smithers) in the cast.
HATEFUL EIGHT centers on a stagecoach disaster in Wyoming following the Civil War and the Confederate soldiers, local sheriff and four bounty hunters working to free a prisoner stuck biding their time together during a blizzard. Leigh's character 'Daisy Domergue,' is wanted for murder.
THE HATEFUL EIGHT begins shooting early next year.
Tatum is best known for his roles in Step Up (2006), G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009), Dear John (2010), THE VOW (2012), 21 JUMP STREET (2012) and MAGIC MIKE (2012). He has also appeared in films such as Coach Carter (2005), She's the Man (2006), A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006), Fighting (2009), and The Dilemma(2010) and G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013).
