Cennarium Rings In The Holidays Hip-Hop Style With New Interpretation of THE NUTCRACKER Image

Cennarium, one of the largest subscription streaming services for theatrical productions, will stream a special showing of "A Nutcracker" as a holiday gift to audiences two days before Christmas. The production will be accessible to viewers at no cost on Saturday, Dec. 23, at 1 p.m. EST with the performance available for viewing from anywhere on any device. Viewers can sign-up in advance for free access at

"A Nutcracker" is a refreshing and unusual version of Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker" that offers a different point of view of the timeless tale. French choreographer Bouba Landrille Tchouda takes E.T.A. Hoffmann's story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" and intertwines it with Tchaikovsky's romantic and moving composition. With his theater company, Tchouda interprets the classical ballet in a surprisingly modern fashion adding hip-hop music by noted composer Yvan Talbot.

Cennarium is providing free access to this all-time favorite holiday classic to promote making the performing arts more accessible to audiences through streaming. A large percentage of the population does not have access to the performing arts due to location, cost or time restraints.

"Families have been going to see 'The Nutcracker' during the holiday season for generations and we wanted to share this new interpretation with audiences," said Themis Gomes, CEO of Cennarium.
