Carrie Preston to Guest Star on 'The Good Wife'

Stage and screen star Carrie Preston will guest star on a multiple episode arc of the hit television show CBS later this season. Preston will play one of a team of lawyers called in to air Chris North's character, Peter Florick.

Preston has performed in a number of Broadway plays, including Indiscretions and The Tempest, and off-Broadway in Boys and Girls, Chaucer in Rome, Straight Jacket, Antony and Cleopatra and Freedomland. On screen, she has acted in The Stepford Wives, The Legend of Bagger Vance, Cradle Will Rock, My Best Friend's Wedding and others; Preston was also featured on the series "Emeril." Most recently, Preston starred in the original Broadway cast of the play Festen in the role of Mette.

"The Good Wife" focuses on Julianna Margulies as Alicia Florrick, the wife of Peter Florrick (Noth). Her husband has been jailed following a very public sex and corruption scandal. She returns to her old job as a litigator to rebuild her reputation and provide for her two children. The series was partly inspired by the Eliot Spitzer prostitution scandal.

The show also stars Broadway alums Christine Baranski and Alan Cumming and has featured guest starring roles by a number of Broadway stars including Noah Weisberg, Martha Plimpton and Joanna Gleason.

Currently in its first season, "The Good Wife" airs Tuesday nights at 10:00pm on CBS. he series was created by Robert and Michelle King and is produced by brothers Ridley and Tony Scott, Charles McDougall and David W. Zucker.
