Cara Gee has joined the cast of the FOX adaptation of "The Call of the Wild," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jack London's 1903 story tells of a sled dog that tries to survive the Alaskan wilderness as well as a series of abusive owners. Gee joins a cast that includes Harrison Ford, Dan Stevens and Karen Gillan.
Chris Sanders will make his his live-action debut with the adaptation, which will incorporate major CG elements as it tells the story of sled dogs, wolves and humans in the far north during the Gold Rush.
The screenplay was writen by Michael Green. Erwin Stoff will produce the film, with Diana Pokorny and Ryan Stafford executive producing.
Gee, an indigenous Canadian actor whose recent credits include Letterkenny, is best known for her role on the Syfy series "The Expanse."
Fox will release "The Call of the Wild" on Dec. 25, 2019.
