The Capitals (41-13-7) lead the NHL with 89 points. The Rangers (40-20-2, 82 pts) boast the sixth-most points in the league. New York has won both meetings with Washington this season, including a 2-1 Rangers victory on Hockey Day in America (Feb. 19) on NBC.

NBC Sports has produced numerous NHL viewership milestones over the past 72 hours. Coming off of the most-watched non-Winter Classic regular-season game in three years (Flyers-Penguins on NBC on Saturday night), Sunday night's Blues-Blackhawks game on NBCSN averaged 594,000 viewers to rank as the network's most-watched non-exclusive regular-season telecast in nearly a year (WSH-PIT; 648,000; 3/20/16).

In addition, last night's Kings-Wild game on NBCSN delivered an 8.0 rating in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market to rank as the network's highest-rated regular-season Wild game ever in the market. The 8.0 Minneapolis rating was up 150% vs. 2015-16 regular-season average for Wild games on NBCSN in the market (3.2).
