NBCSN has added tonight's NHL matchup featuring the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers at 7 p.m. ET to its telecast schedule, as newly-acquired defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk makes his Capitals debut.
The majority of the country will now see Capitals-Rangers on NBCSN, while select markets, including Denver, will receive the network's originally-scheduled game, featuring the Colorado Avalanche and Philadelphia Flyers at 7 p.m. ET. Coverage begins tonight at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NHL Live.
The Capitals (41-13-7) lead the NHL with 89 points. The Rangers (40-20-2, 82 pts) boast the sixth-most points in the league. New York has won both meetings with Washington this season, including a 2-1 Rangers victory on Hockey Day in America (Feb. 19) on NBC.
Following is the breakdown of tonight's NHL coverage on NBCSN:
Nationally, most viewers will receive Capitals-Rangers on NBCSN;
Select markets will receive the originally-scheduled Avs-Flyers game on NBCSN;
Denver will receive Avs-Flyers on NBCSN;
Philadelphia, Washington, and New York will receive their local team on their respective regional sports networks, as originally scheduled, across all distributors;
DirecTV subscribers will receive Avs-Flyers on NBCSN (220), and Capitals-Rangers on the NBCSN alternate feed (220-1);
AT&T subscribers will receive Capitals-Rangers;
Dish subscribers will receive Avs-Flyers;
Both games will be streamed on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

NBC Sports has produced numerous NHL viewership milestones over the past 72 hours. Coming off of the most-watched non-Winter Classic regular-season game in three years (Flyers-Penguins on NBC on Saturday night), Sunday night's Blues-Blackhawks game on NBCSN averaged 594,000 viewers to rank as the network's most-watched non-exclusive regular-season telecast in nearly a year (WSH-PIT; 648,000; 3/20/16).
In addition, last night's Kings-Wild game on NBCSN delivered an 8.0 rating in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market to rank as the network's highest-rated regular-season Wild game ever in the market. The 8.0 Minneapolis rating was up 150% vs. 2015-16 regular-season average for Wild games on NBCSN in the market (3.2).
