Michael Dunosky, a data network consultant from San Jose, California, was surprised with the news that he's the lucky winner of the DIY Network Blog Cabin Giveaway 2016. Dunosky's name was randomly drawn from nearly 43 million entries to win the prize package valued at more than $900,000.
The giveaway includes a fully renovated and furnished home in Panacea, Florida, plus $50,000 provided by national mortgage lenderQuicken Loans anda 2016 Mazda CX-5. The home is perched on three-and-a-half acres of prime waterfront property in the Florida panhandle.
"I listened to a voicemail from someone at DIY Network saying they needed to speak with me about my entry," said Dunosky. "My wife Patricia and I didn't know what to make of it before we called back, we poured over the DIY Network website trying to figure out what else it could be because we just couldn't believe we may have won."
"Mike actually wasn't feeling well when we learned the good news, but I thought we should celebrate anyway," said Patricia Dunosky. "I got out our good crystal and we all toasted with ice water!"
The Dunoskys, along with their two young children, will see the home for the first time in person later this month. "We feel so fortunate, lucky and blessed at the same time," he added.
