Variety reports that a storyline based on Bruce Jenner's recent transition to newly introduced Caitlyn Jenner may become a storyline on the next season of Netflix's hit transgender-themed drama TRANSPARENT.
According to the report, the show was a great inspiration to Kim Kardashian and the rest of Jenner's family in helping them through the patriarch's transition. Yesterday, the show's creator, Jill Soloway revealed that Jenner has been invited to the show's set.
Speaking at Tuesday's Brass Ring Awards at the Beverly Hilton, Soloway revealed, "I don't know if she'd want to act, but we definitely want to incorporate the fact that she came out into this season. Just to have that base conversation somewhere in a scene, for sure."
She want on to share that she was happy her show has helped in raising transgender awareness. "I feel like the change in the transgender community has happened because of the lived lives of trans people. There is a sea change happening right now, a revolution and we're definitely in there a part of it," she said. "Sometimes I just trip on the fact that she's the patriarch of the most famous family on the planet. There's an international resonance with people recognizing that trans people are people too."Read the story in full here
