On February 26th, Collins will once again don military duds as he stars in the franchise lead role in Sony's new WWII action film COMPANY OF HEROES.
Based on the THQ video game series of the same name, Collins plays a wet-behind-ears young Army private who ends up commanding his comrades on a seemingly impossible rescue mission into the heart of Nazi territory. Intent on extracting a German scientist to stop Hitler from developing a nuclear superweapon, Collins' leads an all-star cast that includes Tom Sizemore, Vinnie Jones, Neal McDonough, and Jurgen Prochnow. The first full-length feature film based on the highest-rated strategy video game of all-time, COMPANY OF HEROES will be available on DVD and Blu-ray and features two behind-the-scenes featurettes and bonus extras. Directed by Don Michael Paul, the theatrical trailer can be viewed here.
Collins is perhaps best known for his franchise lead starring role in Sony's reboot of their SNIPER films starring TOM BERENGER, SNIPER: RELOADED (2011). Co-starring Billy Zane, who reprised his role from the original film, Collins played Berenger's estranged son who learns the way of the gun to hunt down the rogue sniper responsible for murdering his Marine comrades in the Congo. He is attached to star in the film's sequel, with Zane directing and once again co-starring, shooting this spring.
Last seen in a fan-favorite turn as 'Frankenstein's Monster' in the hit ABC fantasy drama "Once Upon a Time," Collins' busy 2012 also included a recurring guest star role in ABC's "Last Resort" and guest-starring roles in the premiere of TNT's new spinoff "Major Crimes" as well as in "2 Broke Girls" and "Ringer." Collins' other credits include "NCIS," "CSI: Miami," "Enlightened," "90210," and "CSI: NY" as well as lead roles in LAKE PLACID 2 and the SyFy original movie "Rock Monster."
A self-described "accidental actor," Collins worked in the entertainment industry doing personal publicity when a renowned manager/producer suggested that he give the craft a try. With zero experience and feeling on the fence about taking a class, it was his fierce love of the epic HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers" that he was then engrossed with that swayed him to give it a go, in hopes of maybe one day getting to play such a role. Class soon opened his eyes to the idea of playing pretend for a living full-time, and Collins has since Gone on to star as a Joe/grunt/Seaman/sniper/Petty Officer/Staff Sergeant - among other ranks - across several television shows and films.
Born and raised in a small country town with a hard-to-pronounce name (Canajoharie) in upstate New York, Collins attended Ithaca College and currently lives in Burbank, California.
